Everything You Need to Know About Applying for a Turkey Visa as a Citizen of Oman or Cyprus

Moving to Turkey and taking advantage of its low cost of living, beautiful weather, and great nightlife scene can be an attractive prospect if you’re a citizen of Oman or Cyprus. However, the immigration process can be complex and confusing if you don’t have the right information at your fingertips. That’s why we put together this article about how to apply for a Turkey visa as an Omani or Cypriot citizen – so you’ll know exactly what to expect!

How To Get A Turkish Tourist Visa As An Omani Or Cypriot

If you have an Omani passport, you can travel visa-free to Turkey for 90 days out of any 180-day period. However, if you are an OMANI citizen and would like to spend more than three months in Turkey, then you will need to apply for a tourist visa. To do so, visit your nearest Turkish embassy and submit proof that you will be able to financially support yourself while in Turkey. This can be done by providing financial records and/or submitting bank statements. If your application is approved, it typically takes between two and five days before receiving your Turkish visa via courier mail. TURKEY VISA FOR OMANI CITIZENS

Where Can I Get My Turkish Tourist Visas From?

If you’re an Omani citizen, your visa will be processed by Turkey. If you’re a Cypriot citizen, your visa will be processed by Cyprus. Both countries should have official information on their websites outlining how you can get your visa. The process is similar for both countries; here are some pointers

How Long Does It Take For My Turkish Tourist Visas To Arrive?

Residence Permit applications must be submitted with 1) valid passports; 2) civil birth certificates; 3) marriage certificates (if applicable); 4) statement on Oath; 5) police clearance certificate from countries where the applicant has lived for 6 months or more after reaching 16 years of age. Candidates are required to submit documents from every country they have resided in for six months or more after reaching 16 years of age. For example, if you were a Turkish citizen living in Germany for 8 years and residing in Turkey for 7 months at present, you will need documents from all three countries (Germany, Turkey, and your home country). Documents Required For The Residence Permit Application Process

The documents required vary from one country to another. Check with your local Turkish consulate or embassy to learn about specific requirements. When you visit your Turkish embassy, you must present your passport, which will be valid for at least three months after your planned return date. You’ll also need proof of enrollment in a university program. If you plan on taking language courses in Turkey, it’s helpful (but not required) to bring proof that you can speak and understand basic conversational Turkish. Also bring two color photos of yourself, which should meet strict size and border requirements; if possible, use color snapshots rather than black-and-white prints taken by someone else—your application is more likely to be approved if they look professional.

When Will I Receive My Work Permit?

Once you have received your visa, you will need to apply for a work permit through your employer. This can take time so it’s best not to buy airline tickets until you know exactly when and where you will be working. If you do purchase flights too early, get them refundable; that way if your employer changes their mind about letting you work in Turkey, it won’t cost much money. A work permit can be requested after five days have passed since receiving an employment authorization certificate from SEKURO (Employment Security Institution). The employment authorization certificate allows holders up to 90 days of residency in Turkey – all extensions must be approved by SEKURO within 90 days of arrival and up until two months before expiration.

Renewing Your Work Permit in Turkey

If you are working in Turkey, your employer should be handling your permit renewal every time. If you have lost contact with your employer, it may be difficult to know when it is time to renew your work permit. In many cases, however, you will receive an extension automatically; even so, keep track of how long you have been working in Turkey so that you know when it is time for renewal.
