7 Steps to Follow When Applying for an Indian Visa Online

To visit India, you’ll need to apply for an Indian visa, which requires filling out the appropriate forms and submitting documents that prove your identity and travel eligibility. The INDIAN VISA APPLICATION PROCESS can be confusing at first, but it’s actually quite simple and straightforward once you know the basic steps to follow. If you’re planning on visiting India soon, then these seven steps will show you exactly how to apply for an Indian visa online.

Step 1: Decide Where to Apply

Before you can start applying for a visa, you’ll need to decide where in India you’ll be applying. Keep in mind that INDIAN VISA APPLICATION processing fees differ from one location to another and also vary depending on your nationality. For example, Indians pay less than $10 USD while Americans pay around $100 USD. It’s best to check your consulate’s website before beginning your application so that you know what you’re getting into!

Step 2: Gather Documents

You’ll need a scanned or photographed copy of each document listed below. You may choose to upload your documents at once or submit them one by one as you fill out each section on your application. The Indian visa officer will look at each item separately, so be sure that all copies are clear and visible and that no pages are missing or blurry. If any information is unclear or illegible, it could delay processing time significantly. Step 3: Register Your Passport on Embassy Website

This step is necessary if you’re applying on behalf of someone else. If you are applying on your own behalf, you can skip it as your passport details have already been registered. If, however, you’re applying on behalf of another person, then you will need to register his/her passport details by going through a four-step process that includes filling out and submitting a form along with uploading an image of his/her passport (both pages) and entering personal information like name, contact number, etc. This registration procedure is important because it helps embassies keep track of their incoming applications in real-time; thus enabling them to better serve their clients. Once completed successfully, visitors are issued an Indian visa application number which acts as confirmation that they have submitted their application online successfully.

Step 5: Submit Application

Enter your contact information and provide a copy of your passport. This section also requires you to upload a scanned color photo (non-color, non-animated) that is no larger than 30Kb in size. You will be asked to submit details about where you are going, how long you’ll be there, and who is financially responsible for paying all expenses during your trip. There is also a space for additional comments related to your visa application process as well as emergency contact details. Remember: it may seem like a small thing now, but providing emergency contacts can save lives! Step 4: Fill in the Form

After completing all of your details and reviewing your information, click Submit at the bottom of your form. This will automatically send you back to step 1. Make sure that all fields are completed accurately, as Indian visa officials do not accept any applications with missing information. For example, if you apply for a tourist visa, make sure that you provide accurate travel dates and times. You can also select multiple options under categories such as occupation or purpose of visit. This makes it easier for processing agents, who will simply tick off any box that is relevant to your situation. You should save a copy of your application on your computer before clicking Submit; there is no option to save online once you have begun filling out any section of your application form!

Step 6: Wait Until You Receive Notification

After submitting your Indian visa application online, you will have to wait until you receive a notification of either acceptance or rejection. If you are rejected, it is possible that your application may be approved at a later date. In rare cases, if a visa officer has any specific questions about your reasons for visiting India, they may contact you directly and require that you submit additional information before being allowed entry into India. If so, simply follow steps 1 through 5 again when convenient and make sure that all of your additional information is submitted in its entirety by following step 7.

Step 7: Pay Fees

You will receive a confirmation number once you have successfully submitted your visa application. You will be requested to make payments through Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Internet Banking, or NEFT/RTGS. The mode of payment depends on your country. Applicants from non-India and non-Bangladesh countries are required to pay via credit card whereas applicants from India and Bangladesh can choose between VISA/MasterCard, Debit Card, or Net Banking. All transactions are processed in Indian Rupees.
